Siaway Miapue is an award-winning investigative journalist with seven years of experience. Known for producing compelling stories with a focus on health and environmental reporting, he was honored in 2023 as the recipient of Liberia’s first Young Journalist Award, funded by USAID Media Activities through Internews, a global development media organization. Miapue is currently a contributing writer at Front Page Africa, a fact-checker at Local Voices Liberia, and a fellow of New Narratives. He holds a Diploma from the Media Aid Foundation/Peter Quaqua School of Journalism and a Certificate from the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia.
He is completing his BSc. in Public Health at the University of Liberia. Miapue has also served as News Director at Kool FM and has participated in several national and international fellowship programs, including those with Journalists for Human Rights (JHR), the Center for Media Studies and Peace Building, the Investigative Journalism Fellowship, the Liberia Health and Rights Journalists Network (LHRJN), and the Local Voices Health Reporting Fellowship.
