William Q. Harmon is a political and environmental reporter at the Daily Observer newspaper. He has been a practicing journalist for over a decade having joined the Observer in 2011. William started as a roving reporter before settling into his preferred beats—political and environmental reporting. William provided coverage for the Executive Mansion for five years (2013-2018). He joined New Narratives in June 2019 as part of our Justice Reporting Project and has since joined Land Rights and Climate Change projects.
William is a 2010 graduate of the Jireh School of Journalism in Monrovia and a senior student at the United Methodist University reading Mass Communications and French.
In 2016, William was invited by the government of the Kingdom of Morocco to cover the 22nd edition Conference of the Parties (COP-22)—a UN environment summit held in the city of Marrakech.
He has also been to China, Kenya, Nigeria and other countries on learning and reportorial missions.
William is a member of Association of Environmental Journalist in Africa, a group formed on the margins of COP 22 by over 40 journalists from across the African continent
