Evelyn Kpadeh Seagbeh has more than 11 years experience reporting in the field and in newsrooms. She has won three journalism awards. She’s passionate about storytelling and reporting on underreported communities. Evelyn joined New Narratives in 2018 as part of our West Africa Justice Reporting Project and has since joined Climate Change and Extractives Reporting projects.
Evelyn reported for Anadolu Agency-the Turkish News Agency from 2014 to March 2018 as Liberia correspondent. She currently corresponds for Radio Deutsche Welle (Africa) as Liberia correspondent. Evelyn’s extensive experience reporting on the suffering of women and girls persuaded him to found the non-profit Just a Girl Initiative, which empowers young commercial sex workers, teenage mothers, single mothers and promising young Liberian women and girls who lack opportunities.
Evelyn is a fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Program, an international associate of the Wagner College in New York and a fellow of The International ITP UNSCR 1325 sponsored by the Swedish Government.
