Caleb Ahinakwah

Caleb Ahinakwah is a Ghanaian journalist, fact-checker, and communications consultant with
more than a decade of experience in broadcast, digital, and investigative journalism. He is a
Senior Online Journalist with MyJoyOnline, where he reports on governance, climate change,
public health, environmental sustainability, digital public infrastructure, human rights, and
social development.
His work is rooted in accountability journalism and data-driven storytelling, exploring how
public policies affect communities across Africa. In addition to his work in Ghana, he
contributes to international outlets including Mongabay, The Guardian, Allen Dreyfus,
and DUBAWA Ghana, covering environmental, governance, and development issues.
A former DUBAWA fellow and fact-checker, Caleb has developed expertise in verification,
open-source intelligence (OSINT), and countering misinformation and disinformation. He
has also participated in cross-border investigations with the Centre for Journalism Innovation
and Development (CJID), focusing on climate resilience, environmental governance, and
sustainable development.
His professional development includes fellowships with New Narratives, the National Press
Foundation’s 2025 Rare Disease Reporting Fellowship in Washington, D.C., and the Media
Foundation for West Africa’s Digital Public Infrastructure Fellowship. These experiences
have strengthened his reporting on science, technology, environmental health, governance,
and public policy.
Beyond journalism, Caleb advises organisations on strategic communications, media
engagement, and narrative development.
